And away we go...

Bright and early tomorrow morning we will board our plane and head to Boston! So many mixed emotions as we are so glad the  time has arrived, and we anticipate with eagerness having Koal’s surgery done so he can recover and begin healing.  At the same time, we know this time will be stressful and difficult as well, and we will miss Kade and Adry more than EVER, but we are so filled with God’s peace, and so blessed and grateful for this journey He is leading us through, we praise Him for His grace and love, and look to Him for everything always, and especially in the next few weeks.

We ask that you continue prayers for our trip – for safety and ease of travel with the little man.(Who wants to be on a plane with a fussy 6 month old?!??!?! OR be the parents of said 6 month old?!?!?)  Continue to pray that all goes well during his pre-op tests, MRI, echo, etc. and that surgery will happen as planned on Thursday with no issues.  Pray for our surgeon, Dr. Pedro del Nido, and all the men and women, doctors, nurses and staff that will be a part of Koal’s surgical team and those that will then care for him post-op. Please pray for an uncomplicated, speedy recovery for our little guy, and for great success with this surgical procedure.  Continue to pray of course for Kade and Adry, as well as my parents who will take the first “shift” with the kiddos here.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support.  We are soooooo very blessed and continually amazed by how God uses people to encourage, support and lift us in so many ways.  Just this week alone we have received incredible gifts and amazing support and encouragement from my sister and her family, an aunt of mine and one of Adam’s, grandparents,  a group of playgroup moms I have the pleasure of doing life with weekly, AND anonymous gifts from our church family at Jacob’s Well.  THANK YOU…to everyone…for EVERYTHING. We can’t say it enough…and it’s impact is far beyond your understanding.
One final note…since we’ll be in Boston for Kade’s 4th birthday, we celebrated a bit early this past weekend with Adam’s family.  Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment :)

Dear ones--know that you each continue to be in our prayers and thoughts as you continue this next leg in your amazing journey. The kid lets simply couldn't be any cuter...and our prayers are for you as parents, for the kids, for grandparents from both sides help from "home base" with the kids and for the medical team preparing and helping with the surgery and all the testing. Know you have thousands (plus) praying for you and yours...and dear little Koalton. As I've shared before, he's a button of "cute" and especially this week we will be praying extra hard for him, all of you and the surgery. Prayers as you mentioned will be for continued peace, rest as you can and God's hand in all that's happening so you have courage and know how much love and prayers are surrounding you all.

I thought of you all as I was posting and wanted to share some favorite sayings/verses of encouragement:

Life is a series of waiting moments...

"Be strong. Take courage. Don't be intimidated. Don't give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you."
Deuteronomy 31:5-7 (in Context)

Faith is not a hothouse plant that must be shielded from wind and rain, so delicate that it has to be protected, but is like the sturdy oak which becomes stronger with every wind that blows upon it. An easy time weakens faith, while strong trials strengthen it. Katherine Workman

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." --1 Peter 5:7

We will be praying and lifting you all up to the One that holds us all. May He boldly and gently at the same time hold you and yours during this week and the upcoming recovery for Koalton. You are loved...and not alone...on so many levels. Our prayers and hope go with you dear ones. Love...Char, Greg & Crew :)
