Cardiologist appointment September 2014
Koal's cardiology appointment this morning with Dr. Shah went well overall. He did great with the tests: the EKG and his echo. He's always been so tolerant and very good at holding still while they take pictures perform tests. Today was no different! He tends to be shy and say little, and that still hasn't changed, mostly. He is coming out of his shell and becoming more friendly at times, but nothing crazy yet. :) He smiled for the nurses and even told the echo lab tech thank you when she finished, BUT he did respond with a loud "NO" when I asked him to tell Dr. Shah thank you as we were leaving. HA! You win some, you lose some. :)
Dr. Shah said that things still look pretty good with Koal's little heart. His function is good, his EKG looked great and things are pretty stable. He did say that Koal's right ventricle pressures are higher than before, but this is what we expected as he gets bigger. It's tough to hear it's "getting worse" but at the same time, we do want the little stinker to grow! The pressures increase as the conduit becomes too small for Koal...he grows, the conduit does not. Doc said it's nothing of great concern for now, and we'll just continue to watch it as we have been. As the pressures increase as he grows, we'll know it's time for a trip to Boston for surgery to change the conduit when it gets to a certain point. Dr. Shah didn't seem to think that would be for another year or two, HOPEFULLY, so we'll continue to pray for that! Another four months until Koal's next appointment, so we'll wait and watch the little guy run and play and grow and thrive!
THANK YOU, again, for your constant prayers and support. We are SO blessed by our family and friends that surround us with love and prayers. God amazes us daily as we watch Koal and all of our children grow though and in Him, and we are beyond thankful for how He uses YOU in our lives as well.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
