One year ago...

Koal - 19 months

A year ago yesterday, we handed our sweet baby Koal over to the surgical team at Children’s Hospital Boston and spent nine hours waiting as they operated on his tiny walnut sized heart. Dr. del Nido and the amazing group of doctors, nurses and staff at Children’s saved our little guys life, and changed ours forever.

Here’s a link back to a year ago…

As I was reading Psalm 23 the other day, I started to reflect back on those hours, days and weeks in which we watched Koal prepare for, endure and eventually recover from surgery.  What a comfort it was then, and is now as God’s promises remain and His plan was and is always perfect.

Pslam 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
     he refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk
through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me…

Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.
