And he's OFF!!

We spent this past weekend at the kids’ Great Granny and Grandpa’s house (Adam’s grandparents) for a cousin’s wedding, and out of the blue on Friday night, Koal stood up and walked about 10 steps! Now he’s off and running – across the room, from person to person, or even from our dining room table over to the living room couch! Up until Friday he’s taken a few steps here or there: one or two on his own between Adam and I when we encouraged it, or one or two between a couch and toy, but this is the real thing now. He stands himself up next to the couch or with a hand from someone and he’s gone! I’d forgotten how funny and cute it is to see them so wobbly at times and with their arms out when they need to catch their balance, but he’s doing a great job, and Kade and Adry think it’s awesome! They are full of encouragement, praise and attention, and Koalton is eating it up. Better get the kid a cute pair of shoes that won’t fall off J

14 Months...and I'm a SLACKER!

The 13 month mark came and went for Koal…as did 14!! I still can’t believe he’s ONE, and now, here we are at 14 months!  Please know that a lack of blogging means only GOOD things.  Koal has been doing so well (and we’ve been SO busy!), but I apologize for falling so far behind with the updates! The little man is pulling up on EVERYTHING now, and pushing his little walker toys across the room.  I know it won’t be long before he just takes off walking with no help! We’ve seen a step or two, but not consistently, and it’s generally more like “lunging” forward than steps. The “army crawl” is much less used these days and Koal has been pushing himself up to crawl “normally” most of the time (if he’s not walking with a toy or along the couch, chairs, etc!).He loves to “dance” when he hears music (and I’ve been trying to grab a video of that, but no luck so far!) and he LOVES to play in the cupboards with the storage-ware or plastic cups.  He’s also a HUGE fan of balls.  In fact, I think I heard him say “baa” last week while he picked one up!  He’s also saying “mama” non-stop, but those are the only two decipherable “words” so far.

At the end of May Koal and Adry were baptized at our church. It was a sweet day with family and friends, and we are thankful for God’s loving presence in their lives already and look forward to all He has in store for them!

We’ve been keeping busy lately with a recent trip to Table Rock lake with Adam’s Dad and family, as well as a trip or two down to Adam’s Mom’s house to play in the pond at and the “club house.”  Koal LOVES the water, as do his siblings, so there are pics below of some of our recent water fun J
